He has an engineering degree from the University of Applied Sciences in Eberswalde, Germany in 2007, and spent several years in research and development for window and door manufacturing. In 2013 Jörn obtained a M.Sc. in Wood Science from UBC, Vancouver where he was later a lecturer and the Technical Operations Manager at the Centre for Advanced Wood Processing (CAWP)
Jörn has managed several research projects in the areas of wood products development and manufacturing, process optimization, Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machining, and robotic milling

With great sorrow we mourn the loss of our chief product-design innovator who left us in Feb 2020 for the most creative workshop in the sky.
He was a genius in his work, a designer nonpareil and globally recognized for his creative woodwork. His installations at prestigious international locations live on after him celebrating his life and joy. We will miss him sorely and his warm cheer that encouraged us, and will continue to do so.
